WHAT IS CURSILLO ?
Cursillo is a movement of the Church, providing a method by which Christians are empowered to grow through prayer, study and action and enabled to share God’s love with everyone.
(British Anglican Cursillo Council)
Cursillo originated in the 1940s in the Roman Catholic Church in Spain and has since spread to many countries and to other denominations including the Anglican Church.
Cursillo is the Spanish word for a short course.
How Does It Work?
The Cursillo method works by forming groups of Christians who live out their faith in their family, neighbourhood, parish and workplace.
It provides them with support and encouragement in this, with the focus on prayer, study and action.
This is dome through a combination of small local groups (Group Reunions), complemented by less frequent area gatherings (Ultreyas).
All are encouraged to follow a rule of life, including spiritual direction.
